Panchbhutas or the five elements which is the ancient scriptures of the orient of nature, the five elements that is Prithvi – Earth, Jal – Water , Vayu- Air, Akash- Sky, Agni – Fire
These five elements are those that we are made up of and the entire universe as well. These are the creators and destroyers. The concept of Panchbhutas is taken as reference to describe my Himalayan expedition. However modern or advance we have made this world we live in when you visit paravti valley you will experience all the five elements coalescing in your journey at this trip.
According to “John Lubbock” Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books. Truly said as Journeys like these will teach the undiscovered potential that you possess, experiences like these will be a reality check that how small our life is to whine about and travel stories which we are part of will be cherished for life time.
Parvati valley is situated in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Bhuntar is a town in Kullu district. This is the central point from Bhuntar, the road gets divided in two directions, as one goes towards Parvati valley and other Kullu-Manali. Kasol is the starting point of Parvati valley and also the biggest town in the region. A slight glimpse of the trek will be found right when you enter Kasol. The culture of the place can be recognized when you visit the local shops which is filled with beautiful and colorful musical instruments, the dream catchers, huge variety of woolen wear and never seen before kind off sheeshas. One night stay in kasol that is the foot of Parvati valley where the iconic view of the mountains and pleasant sound of river following right next to the cottage you’re staying is an experience which is the best way to start the magnificent journey. One day at Kasol before the actual trek of Kheerganga is like a trailer of the movie, the next adventure which your about to face. Kheerganga is a sacred valley where Lord Shiva is said to have meditated for 3000 years.
Now the whole connection of the 5 elements of nature interlinked with this place let’s start with
Prithvi (Earth) – The Trek offers some exhilarating views as the landscape changes rapidly from an open valley to a deep jungle and several waterfalls are spotted on the way. The experience of Parvati River in its full rage, coming down thunderously from mountains as you have to cross her on a bridge without barricades. It’s a 14km trek about 5 to 6 hours walk. The second best part of the trek is path. The path is like a roller coaster, every small hill has its own way of leading to the next level. No flat surface, hardly few muddy areas, but most part of the journey is on think rock path, accompanied with cows and mountain dogs. The paths are extremely tiny, permitting only one person at a time and of course slippery due to mist and small water fall area.
Jal –Water – The name Kheerganga came due to the milky waters of the river flowing in all its vastness and its streams flowing into Parvati valley from all sides of the mountain. Kheerganga has panoramic skies and vast greenery which is a delight to eyes and ears as well due to sound of river, these river beans will be contiguous to Parvati River. It’s not just the destination though, en route to Kheerganga you will cross many waterfalls and bridges that might be your last step ever, the tremendous river flow and its thunderous sound as musical as mother nature can be do instill some fear into your heart about how strong nature really is. From Pulga, the footpath climbs to a temple at Rudra-Nag waterfall, its resemblance of a water snake. Beyond Rudra-Nag waterfall, the trail ascends further through thick pine forests to the spiritual site
Vayu- Air – Kheerganga has altitude 9700 ft .Kheer Ganga is located at a height of 13,051 feet above sea-level (3978 m) . Every view of trek is breath taking like literally. As you are near to the destination the whole atmosphere changes, at the same time you will be exhausted due to first few hours of trek, every breath you take is sensed you can listen to your heart beat in between those deep meows. Valley echoes the mystical power of nature and has lot to offer to the travelers. Even though you’re extremely tired you will still have unknown vitality in you which is driving you to reach up to the top. The cold breeze touching your skin is so pure people from the cities will actually understand the value of chemical free air .
Akash- Sky – Vision of sky was indeed a treat by itself, morning it had a different story and night had a different story couldn’t decide which version was better. After reaching the top of the mountain as an exhausted traveler the first thing you do is to sleep on the lap of nature take a deep breath and enjoy the sky the feeling of almost touching the sky but still not yet there was amazing. The view of another bigger mountain right in front of your eyes the feeling of touching the clouds thinking of so close yet so far, was indeed cannot express in words. The night was so beautiful the freezing weather was not highly effected as the view of countless starts will almost make you cry because the sky seems like it is narrating stories, a picture or a pathway to another mountain tip. And the moon has to play his role of making the sky look even more stunning. The sun sets had some magic of its own. You can see the reflection of the sun rays on each other’s face.
Agni – Fire – When it comes to fire there is nonentity to discuss about, but one of the best thing about kheerganga is Hot water springs Kheerganga is also famous for its hot water spring, which will take out all your tiredness in a dip. The bath view is again spectacular as Green Mountain with snow covering border and chill wind dancing all along , it’s a sacred place as water is passing from temple so water is not supposed to be polluted as a good traveler follow the protocol of place. Hot spring was undeniably extremely hot.
The whole ideology of Panchbhutas coinciding with kheerganga trek is each and every element of existence will be highly connected from the time you start till you end the trek. Kheerganga is one of the best nature trek in Himachal Pradesh, for nature lovers it’s a paradise, let the nature be the way it should be don’t pollute the beauty. Be a good traveler, follow and respect the protocol of the place.
